Weekday Classes offered at Madrasatur-Raoof

There are currently 4 sets of classes that run on a weekly basis. These classes are referred to as “Fasil Alif” “Fasil Baa” Fasil Jeem” and “Fasil Daal”.

Fasil Alif
Afternoon Madrasah

This class caters for primary school learners.
The learners are tested on one-on-one recitation and the topics presented to the learners via Power-Point Presentation include Fiqh, Hadeeth, Seerah, Qiyaamah and others.
The current syllabus used is an Islamic Studies Text Book revised in Madeenah.

Fasil Baa
Afternoon Madrasah

This class caters for high school learners.
The learners are tested on one-on-one recitation and the topics presented to the learners via Power-Point Presentation include Fiqh, Hadeeth, Seerah, Qiyaamah and others.
The current syllabus used by the Trust is an Islamic Studies Text Book revised in Madeenah.

Evening Quraan & Tafseer Class

This class caters for the older students. 
The students recite in group recitation and various selected the chapters of the Quraan are explained. The current text used by the Trust is Ibn Katheer and other similar books.

Evening Fiqh, Hadeeth & Seerah Class

This class caters for the older students. The current texts used by are the Sealed Nectar, Matn Abu Shujaa’ and other texts.

Fasil Daal
Weekend Arabic Classes

This class caters for the older students. The weekend arabic classes include the Arabic Beginners Class (8.30 am – 9.10 am) and the Arabic Advanced Class (9.20 am to 10.10 am).
The duration of the class is  40 minutes long. 
The classes are based on the text as applied at the Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia.

Weekend Sharee’ah Courses

These courses cater for the older students. Various courses run for the duration of one month each. A certificate of attendance is issued to each attendee at the end of each course. An optional examination may be taken at the end of the year for students who are interested.

There are currently 10 courses that runs monthly on Sundays from February to November

Islamic law of purification and prayer

Purification: The attendee will learn all about categories of cleansing waters, types of khabath, types of hadath, tayammum, najis articles, how to remove najis, using the siwaak, how to perform istinjaa’, how to perform wudhoo, how to answer the call of nature, how to perform a ghusl, using the leather sock (khuff), menstruation, nifaas, and istihaadhah and more.

Prayer: The attendee will learn all about the various types of solaah, the time periods regarding the various solaah, how to perform the various types of solaah, the conditions (shuroot) before performing solaah, requirements for the validity of a solaah, and also things that nullify the solaah.

Basics Every Muslim Man Should Know

The attendee will learn all about how to perform a nikaah for your daughter, How to give a name to your child, How to lead a congregation salaah and the janaazah salaah, How to make duah for various occasions, and How to give dawah to the family.

Introduction to Islamic Finance

The course will include topics regarding understanding the various modes of Islamic Finance.

The topics that will be looked at would include the Sources of Reference, Fiqh in Islamic, Islamic Finance Modes, Shariah Governance Framework, Islamic Banking, Islamic Capital Markets, Takaful, and much more.

Islamic Law of Hajj and Umrah

The Main content will include all aspects regarding how Hajj and Umrah are performed in practice.

The attendee will (at the end of the course) have an understanding of how Hajj and Umrah are performed. This will include the intentions and supplications. Pictures will be shown via PowerPoint presentation.

Islamic Law of Inheritance

The attendee will learn about Ground Rules; Estate Liability Claims; Testate Succession Claims; Intestate Succession Ties; Disqualification and Exclusions; Sharer, Residuary, Doctrine of Return, Doctrine of Increase, Distant Kindred, Successive Deaths and Special Cases Equations; and The Will amongst others.

There will also be an opportunity to execute a basic Shariah Compliant Will.

Islamic Law of Marriage and Divorce

The attendee will learn all about the Fiqh pertaining to Engagement, Marriage, Marriage Contracts, Divorce, Fosterage, Maintenance, Child Custody and more.

Aspects of the current Muslim Marriages Bill, Single Marriage Statute, Green Paper on Marriages, and the appointment of the Muslim Marriage Officers will also be looked at.

Islamic Legal Maxims

Islamic Legal Maxims (Al-Qawaa’id Al-Fiq-hiyyah) is the study of broad Universal Principles under which many Legal Issues fall under and from which rulings can be directly derived.

Many of these maxims are taken directly from the Qur’aan and Hadeeth. The maxims are designed to facilitate one to derive legal rulings regardless of whether or not there is an explicit text present. A famous example of such an Islamic Legal Maxim is, “Certainty is not lifted by doubt”.

In this course the five Major Maxims, its branches, and its proofs will be analysed. The practical application of these Maxims in various situations will be looked at.

Islamic Laws of Menstruation and related Matters

The attendee will learn all about the definition of the various bloods, conditions, rulings and signs of menstruation, postpartum bleeding, and irregular bleeding; signs of puberty; signs of purity; colour and characteristics of blood; things made haraam by menstruation, postpartum bleeding, and irregular bleeding; practical examples and more.

Islamic Law Ruqyah

The lecture will be presented by members of the International Quraan Ruqyah Academy

Content includes, Introduction to Ruqyah in light of Quran & Sunnah; Clarity on the Misconceptions of Ruqyah; Definition of Jinn; Identifying Shaytaan; Magic & Magicians; Dreams & Types of Dreams; Possession – Identifying when possession has taken place; Different types of possession; Evil eye & Ghasad; Taweez; Sickness & Diseases caused by Shaytaan; Basic Treatment for Oneself & Family by means of Quran & Dua.

Islamic Law of Janaazah

The participants of this course would acquire the basic practical knowledge of how to muni (wash) and kafan (shroud) his/her parent, child, friend or any other person who has passed on.

The course discussions will include subjects relating to death, afterlife, and various aspects of a Muslim funeral. The signs of near death/death, its significance, and much more will also be looked at.
